Happier Hou Yifan

[16.06.2013 00:00:00] - Glass trophy from Michna palace on Prague Kampa after four days of chess battles finally belongs to Chinese GM Hou Yifan, which had to be decided by shoot out in rapid.

David Navara the fourth game of the match with move 1.e4 and Sicilian Defence appeared on the chessboard again. After twelve moves, black had to solve very interesting novelty in form of sacrifice of the knight, which wasn't accepted after long thinking. Czech representative gained significant time advantage, but due to inaccuracy he came into slightly unpleasant ending. Despite the lack of time Hou Yifan continued with very courageous game and she was over playing her rival, but David Navara retained the game in the end.

About the winner of the 9th year of ČEZ Chess Trophy had to decide rapids. After wins of both players with whites, in state 1:1, armageddon took his turn, for which Hou Yifan picked black figurines. Her choice was successful.
