The most beautiful studies and problems of Mario Matouš, the best Czech chess composer of the 20th century, and bizarre chess stories of Pavel Houser connected by illustrations of Kristina Peřichová into one splendid book.
The book was published also in limited numbered edition (100 copies), bound in imitation leather with an embossed diagram, paper cover and sewn ribbon bookmark.
On 240 pages you will found 45 studies and problems, 22 stories and 36 illustrations. The book is supplemented by biographies of both of the authors and several yet non-published photos. The book was published by Prague chess society in 2014.

[15.05.2019 00:00:00] - The world´s most significant building in Art Nouveau style, the Prague Municipal House, will host between 16 and 19 June a chess festival. As always, the best Czech chess player will compete with one of the world top players and newly also the best Czech junior player will compete with a legendary world player.
This year, David Navara will compete with the world´s third best player, Ding Liren, who last year- from the point of view of the rating performance- was the strongest world player and who played against the best players from all over the world unbelievable series of 100 serious games without losing any of those games. Ding Liren will compete against David Navara in a ten-game match in rapid chess from Monday, 17 June till Wednesday, 19 June. The programme starts ever day at 3 p.m.
The main star of the festival, Ding Liren, will also play a simul against 25 competitors on Sunday, 16 June at 4 p.m. Any chessplayer can take part, the place costs CZK 4,900. If you interested, please register via mail (prazska.sachova@gmail.com).
Simultaneously with the Chinese grandmaster, David Navara will play a simul against children and youth. Several chessplayers from the list of talents of the Czech Chess Federation have their place guaranteed, others will have an opportunity to compete for their place in a qualifying tournament on Sunday, June 9 in Prague. The tournament, which will take place at EA Embassy hotel in the centre of Prague (Peterská 31), will start at 10 a.m. and will last till 5 p.m. The fee is CZK 100 and you can register via email (prazska.sachova@gmail.com). Let´s participate in the rapid chess tournament, the first fifteen players will gain free of charge place in the simul with David Navara!
Apart from David Navara and Ding Liren, the best Czech junior Thai Dai Van Nguyen will compete with a legend of world´s chess, Jan Timman. The experienced grandmaster Robert Cvek will comment all games taking place in the Municipal House.
Besides the two attractive matches, the chessplayers can look forward to lectures by grandmasters and to an exhibition of chess photographs taken by Vladimír Brádel. The opening of the exhibition will take place on Sunday, 16 June at 3:30 p.m., just ahead of the simuls of the two grandmasters, David Navara and Ding Liren in the Prague Municipal House (náměstí Republiky 5).
