Miniatures in chess composition

Yochanan Afek composed more than 250 studies and 100 problems in other genres, more than a half of which were awarded with prizes and other distinctions. A popular form of chess compositions are the miniatures - studies and problems with no more than seven pieces - that best symbolize the perfect harmony between content and form and the victory of mind over matter. Afek has composed around 100 of such studies and in his lecture he shows a selection of his favorite miniatures.
