The most beautiful studies and problems of Mario Matouš, the best Czech chess composer of the 20th century, and bizarre chess stories of Pavel Houser connected by illustrations of Kristina Peřichová into one splendid book.
The book was published also in limited numbered edition (100 copies), bound in imitation leather with an embossed diagram, paper cover and sewn ribbon bookmark.
On 240 pages you will found 45 studies and problems, 22 stories and 36 illustrations. The book is supplemented by biographies of both of the authors and several yet non-published photos. The book was published by Prague chess society in 2014.

[14.10.2017] - Already the seventh Chess Train tournament is taking place on 13 October. During the five-day tournament, chessplayers will travel on route Prague - Olomouc – Trenčín – Bratislava – Lednice –Prague.
The unique worldwide project held by Prague Chess Society and České dráhy (Czech Railways), which connects rail travel with an international chess tournament, is tempting chess players from all over the world to visit Prague. This year 84 players form 16 different countries decided to participate.

[27.07.2017] - The collection of banknotes and coins with chess theme, which is being built by Brno based businessman and chess patron, Vlastimil Chládek, and which will be exhibited for the first time in the Czech National Bank during the course of the Chess Bank Festival, so far consists of one banknote and several tens of coins. [20.06.2017] - The world rapid chess champion, Vassily Ivanchuk, won the twelve-game match in rapid chess against the best Czech chess player, David Navara. The Ukrainian grandmaster won 7,5:4,5 proving to be more experienced in practical skills. Even though the Czech representative managed more often to get a favourable position, Ivanchuk was better in managing the time and using his strengths; hence he was able to get through worse positions and score from better positions. Navara won one game, lost four and seven games were even.

[14.06.2017] - The World Champion in rapid chess Vassily Ivanchuk has arrived to Prague today. He will play the match of 12 rapid chess games against the best Czech chessplayer David Navara.
They will play in Michna Palace in Prague. The first game will start on June 15th at 16:00 and there will be online transmission of it. Every day they will play 4 games.

[02.12.2016] - On the first December Sunday, an extraordinary chess event will take place in the shopping centre Lužiny. The best Czech chess player David Navara will fight against a member of the World Chess Championship and Olympics Team Sergey Movsesyan. The match will be held on 12 chess boards simultaneously.
A similar match took place in 1982 in Tbilisi, Georgia, between the former World Champion Michail Tal and the legendary David Bronstein, using 8 chess boards. Therefore, the GMs David Navara and Sergey Movsesyan are about to create a new world record.

[01.12.2016] - It is always a joy to remember pleasant trips. This year’s Chess Train returned from its journey across Central Europe six weeks ago and we are already preparing for Chess Train 2017. But let’s take a moment now to appreciate the photos from this year’s journey.
