ČERNOBÍLÁ CESTA (BLACK AND WHITE ROUTE)
The most beautiful studies and problems of Mario Matouš, the best Czech chess composer of the 20th century, and bizarre chess stories of Pavel Houser connected by illustrations of Kristina Peřichová into one splendid book.
The book was published also in limited numbered edition (100 copies), bound in imitation leather with an embossed diagram, paper cover and sewn ribbon bookmark.
On 240 pages you will found 45 studies and problems, 22 stories and 36 illustrations. The book is supplemented by biographies of both of the authors and several yet non-published photos. The book was published by Prague chess society in 2014.

Pilgrimiges of wooden kings
[17.06.2019 00:00:00] - We have been mapping journeys of the blue chess kings that were sent on the road by the Prague Chess Society as travel-bugs in a geocaching game. All four kings have already travelled thousands of kilometres and two of them already arrived to their destinations. One on time, the other late, and other two are still on the way…
The first wooden king had been heading to Tonsberg, the hometown of the world champion Magnus Carlsen, and he managed to get there just on time for the opening of the Norwegian super tournament Altibox 2019, where Carlsen participates too. The chess tournament Altibox takes place in Stavenger, which is also in South Norway, but 500 kilometres further West. The world champion has been successful here, as he was on other chess tournaments this year, winning one tournament after another. It seems that the one in Stavenger will not be an exception from this rule.
The first king who set on the road on 18 March 2018, being put to a hiding place near to Prague Airport by geocaching enthusiast Michal Špaček, has been successful too. You can track his journey here.
The second blue wooden king was supposed to make it to Berlin for Candidates Tournament. He did not make it on time, but he arrived, nevertheless. Currently, he is traveling around North Rhine-Westphalia.
The third one had the most difficult task to accomplished – he was supposed to visit Chess Olympics in Georgian town Batumi. Although he has been travelling for 14 months, he is still far away from his destination. He has been wandering in Poland for several now.
An the last one was supposed to visit a Czech extraleague wonder in Nový Bor. He was almost there, however, he somehow missed his destination and he has been rambling around Southern Bohemia now. Nový Bor meanwhile lost its title and perhaps the king wants to visit Lysá nad Labem instead. You are most likely to come across this particular chess piece. If you do so, give it a lift a part of the way.
