ČERNOBÍLÁ CESTA (BLACK AND WHITE ROUTE)

The most beautiful studies and problems of Mario Matouš, the best Czech chess composer of the 20th century, and bizarre chess stories of Pavel Houser connected by illustrations of Kristina Peřichová into one splendid book. The book was published also in limited numbered edition (100 copies), bound in imitation leather with an embossed diagram, paper cover and sewn ribbon bookmark. On 240 pages you will found 45 studies and problems, 22 stories and 36 illustrations. The book is supplemented by biographies of both of the authors and several yet non-published photos. The book was published by Prague chess society in 2014.

CHESS TRAIN 2016

Chess party in a coffee house Šachový Václavák

[08.10.2016 00:00:00] - Eve before departure of the Chess train was also the occasion for vernissage of chess photos in „Šachový Václavák“ and it turned out in the great occasion. This is already the third place, where the winning photos of first year of the „best chess photo from pubs and coffee houses“ competition were exposed. It was already exposed in Mnichův palác and NAPA galery and now they are in Šachový Václavák, very first pub of the chain „Tady se hrají šachy“ - We play chess here (www.chesscafe.cz). Second year of the photo competition was have been just announced. So if you enjoy taking pictures, you like chess and you feel pleased to visit the coffee houses and pubs – you should really participate. You may win vouchers for Centrum FotoŠkoda and beautiful publications of Torst publisher. Just take the picture with chess theme in any pub or restaurant and email it until the 12th December to: sachova.kavarna@gmail.com.


Most visitors of the exhibition were the participants of the sixth Chess train, which was leaving from the Main train station in Prague the following morning. Chess players and travelers from all around the world used this meeting to get in touch with other players and to limber up the fingers during the „blitz game“.


GM Martin Petr, a moderator of the TV programme „V Šachu“, was also one of the guests. The chief of Prague Chess society, Pavel Matocha, gave him the DVD with a film called Chess Train – My Game, which was made last year by estonian-british director Maris Flabba. The DVD includes also the bonuses. You can order this DVD with a nice booklet inside on prazska.sachova@gmail.com for the price of 10 EUR.


Take place in the second year of the competition and you may win some of the attractive prizes, and also to be proud of showing your piece!
