ČEZ Chess Trophy 2014

Nakamura will be in Prague in June

[17.04.2014 00:00:00] - In the beginning of June, one of the greatest stars of world chess Hikaru Nakamura will arrive to Prague. He will play the four games match against Czech number one David Navara, from 6th to 10th June 2014 within this years´ ČEZ Chess Trophy. Hikaru Nakamura, born on 9th of December 1987 in Hirakata, Japanees prefecture of Osaka, is the son of Japanese father and American mother. He moved to the USA with his mother and older brother when he was just two years old. He started playing chess under the supervision of well-known Sri Lankan FIDE master and chess coach, who was also his stepfather, Sunil Weeramantry. His improvement was really fast and in the age of 15 years and 79 days, he became the youngest grandmaster of the USA in the history (even three months younger than legendary Bobby Fischer did it).

His biggest achievement was the one in the tournament in Wijk aan Zee in 2011, where he won over all of the worlds top players as Carlsen, Anand, Aronjan and Kramnik. Nakamura is aggressive player with extraordinary fantasy, fast hand and great will to win.

We are all looking forward to his match against David Navara in June in Prague.
