[15.10.2012 00:00:00] - After the longest tournament day of five rounds, the shortest came. Monday of one single round on the way from Piešťany to Vienna. Grandmaster Martin Petr won even the tenth round and before the last day he has the comfortable 2 points lead. FM Jan Dietrich Wendt keeps the second rank with eight
points and the third one is Sven Roemling with 7 points now. Afterwards follows a group of 5 people with 6,5 points where also GM Ján Plachetka and WGM Kristýna Havlíková are.
The youngest participant of the tournament Yijan Yang managed
to win four times already and he is rising accros the rank table.
The capital city of the former monarchy welcame the participants of the Chess Train at 12:45 p.m. We could feel the athmosphere of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy already in a beutiful ancient hotel Arcotel Wimberger (what a difference from yesterday!), but also during the guided chess history tour of Vienna. Journalist and IM Stefan Löfler prepared a tour of ancient chess coffees and other places that remind Wilhelm Steinitz, Emanuel Lasker and other famous chess players from the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century.
